Merchant's Credentials
Revenue Agency’s merchants credentials
To access the Revenue Agency’s "Online Commercial Document" web procedure through the SIGN IT API, merchants must have personal FISCONLINE credentials. These credentials can be obtained by all taxpayers over the age of 16, including Italian citizens residing abroad, who possess an Italian VAT number.
SIGN IT API allows the input of Fisconline credentials through the fiscalization
section of the createEntity endpoint. The password
and pin
need to be provided for the specific Entity (Company or Individual). Please keep in mind that the end user will need an interface through which they can periodically configure their credentials.
The SIGN IT API allows the use of FISCONLINE credentials to access AdE's web portal. These credentials have to be renewed every 60 days. Other credentials, such as SPID, are not currently supported, as the renewal would need to be done every 24 hours.
To properly authenticate with the web portal via the SIGN IT API, merchants must regularly update their credentials. Failure to update the credentials will result in service disruption, as the SIGN IT Lite API will no longer be able to authenticate with the web procedure. Therefore, it is recommended to implement a periodic reminder for merchants, e.g. via e-mail, to avoid issues such as the blocking of transaction data transmission.
The password expires periodically. Merchants are required to renew their credentials online every 60 days and submit them via SIGN IT Lite. Learn how in this article: SIGN IT - How to update the FISCONLINE credentials
The taxpayer must manually do an initial log in to the Revenue Agency’s web portal in order to ensure that the credentials work properly and to accept the terms, conditions and additional clauses provided.
How to request Fisconline credentials?
The natural person acting as a self-employed individual or as the legal representative of a business can request Fisconline credentials from the Revenue Agency. The easiest way to obtain the credentials for the first time is by submitting a request in person at a Revenue Agency office. For this, the Italian Fiscal Code of the individual or the company will be required.
At the time of the request, the first 4 digits of the pincode and the identification number of the authorization application will be provided. You must keep this information, as within 15 days, the applicant will receive a letter containing the details necessary to complete the pincode (last 6 digits) and the password for initial access.
A new password must be set after the first login. The password provided by the Revenue Agency for initial access should not be used in the SIGN IT API.
