Proof of Ownership

A Proof of Ownership document is required by the relevant Peppol Authority to verify that the registered legal entity is a legitimate business. Provide a document showing the company’s identifying information, such as:

  • Company name (fiscal name)
  • VAT number (tax ID)
  • Legal address

If available, include the Peppol Participant ID. If it is not provided, a Peppol Participant ID is assigned during registration based on the VAT number and the country.

To enable e-invoice delivery via Peppol, the legal entity first needs to be registered in the Peppol network. As part of this process, the taxpayer on whose behalf e-invoices are sent and received is validated.

If the taxpayer is already registered with a Peppol Participant ID, de-registration with the current (or previous) service provider is required before a new registration can be completed.
