Merchant's Credentials
Revenue Agency’s merchants credentials
In order to properly access the Revenue Agency’s Online Commercial Document Procedure via the SIGN IT API, the merchants needs to have personal FISCONLINE credentials. All taxpayers over the age of 16, including Italian citizens residing abroad, who have an Italian VAT number can obtain these credentials.
SIGN IT API allows the input of Fisconline or Entratel credentials through the fiscalization
(fiscalità) section of the createEntity endpoint. The password
and pin
need to be provided for the specific Entity (Company or Individual). Please keep in mind that the end user will need an interface through which they can periodically configure their credentials.
The SIGN IT API allows to use FISCONLINE credentials in order to access the Web Portal. These credentials have to be renewed every 60 days. As other credentials such as SPID require a daily renewal, leading to increased efforts on the merchant’s end, they are currently not supported.
In order to properly authenticate with the Web Portal via the SIGN IT API, merchants need to update the credentials regularly. We recommend to implement a periodic reminder for end users, e.g. via e-mail, in order to avoid any issues in this regard. This prevents blocking the issuance of transactions which happens after exceeding 60 days without renewal.
The password expires periodically. Merchants must renew their credentials online every 60 days and communicate them through SIGN IT Lite.
The taxpayer must manually do an initial log in to the Revenue Agency’s web portal in order to ensure that the credentials work properly and to accept the terms, conditions and additional clauses provided.
How to request Fisconline credentials?
The natural person acting as a self-employed or as legal representative of a business can request the Fisconline credentials of the Revenue Agency. The easiest way to obtain the credentials for the first time is by request, in person, at an office of the Revenue Agency. For this, the Italian Fiscal Code of the individual or company will be required.
Upon request, the first 4 digits of the pincode and the identification number of the authorization application will be provided. You must keep this information, since within 15 days the applicant will receive a letter containing the elements necessary to complete the pincode (last 6 digits) and the password for first access.
You must set up a new password after the first access. The password provided as first access shouldn’t be the one introduced in the SIGN IT API.
